A 4-year-old Layton girl died over the weekend from what's believed to have been exposure to a gas used to kill rodents. Now her 15-month-old sister is in intensive care for the same thing, and investigators still don't know how the gas leaked into their home.

A 23-year-old Oak Lawn man remains in intensive care after he was hit by a wayward car at 5:30 a.m. Sunday in Tinley Park. The man was struck by a 20-year-old Orland Park man who hit the pedestrian, left the roadway and flipped his 2003 Acura in the 6100 block of Jennifer Ave., Tinley Park Police Cmdr. Pat McCain said.
